About Meny
Meny is a lightweight menu bar markdown editor for macOS. It stays out of your way until you need it — click the icon, write, and get back to work.
The editor uses a WYSIWYG approach: markdown syntax renders in place as you type. Bold renders bold, headings scale to size, tables look like tables. Move your cursor into a construct and the raw markdown reappears for editing. Move away and it renders again.
**What Meny renders inline:**
- Headings (H1–H6), bold, italic, strikethrough
- Tables with header rows
- Unordered, ordered, and task lists
- Inline code and fenced code blocks (with copy button)
- Blockquotes, images, and links
- Front matter (for Jekyll and static site workflows)
**Designed to stay out of the way:**
Meny lives in your menu bar and opens instantly. There's no dock icon, no complicated toolbar, no separate window to manage. Just a clean writing surface with light and dark theme support, adjustable font and size, and per-document autosave.
Open any `.md` or `.txt` file, or start writing from scratch. Copying always produces clean markdown text — no hidden formatting, no surprises.
For developers, writers, and anyone who thinks in markdown.
